Black and white

Black and white style logos chose to use bold and interesting typography instead of the traditionally used vibrant colors. The use of black and white for logos could be one of the oldest techniques there is but if done properly it is anything but old and boring.
Simplification

Microsoft is a good example of the use of simplification. It is commonly used on the more known brands were there logo designs slowly degrade, getting more and more basic as time goes on until the bare bones of the company is shown in the logo,
Mosaic patterns

Mosaic patterns is a popular growing style used in today's media. It is commonly used to represent growth and union-ship. Often using vibrant natural colors like blues greens and reds they tend to give off a sophisticated and unique feeling.
Tessellation

tessellation is like a more structured mosaic style. A good example of this style is the logo design for more 4. Like mosaic patterns it uses bright natural colors but will often use a verity of shades in order to add an effect similar to lighting.
Splatter and watercolor

This style uses a very free flowing style, using overlapping colors and the natural effect that watercolor gives as an asset in the logo design. It often uses bright colors and plays with color mixing in order to give off a unique effect that cannot be replicated.
Moiré

This style consists of patterns/optical illusions consisting of lines colliding and converging in a grid pattern. This minimalist style has been used by the designer Daniel freytag. Logos designed in this style often use a mixture of black and white and simplification and it gives off a very nice effect
