Speaker design

I designed my speakers in Google sketch up. I designed my speakers around the concept of blending modern with traditional construction techniques and use a variety of materials. I kept the focus of material on wood for the brand focus is the unconventional use of wood but for some other design I have looked at mixing the design with materials such as leather and possibly some metals like aluminium. I also experimented with designing a non electric speaker that uses its shape to enhance the sound from a phone speaker rather than the others that would use speakers. I tried to make the design of the speakers a mixture of modern and minimalist design that would fit nicely in anyone's home as well as be practical to take on the move with you.
I also experimented with foam modeling. I did this to get a better feeling for the size and feel of my speakers so that I could further understand how that will stand and roughly what they will look like in an environment. Because it was my first time using the hot wire cutter and foam modeling the models were a little bit rough around the edges and not quite to the scale I would have liked but I felt they came out very well for a first attempt at the technique.

The finished designs that I came up with all looked good. A few were more unique and quirky than others and some were more of a novelty design that I did not plan to make but enjoyed experimenting with the concept but they all came out well and I feel they show a very clear representation of what I intend to make.
