Final speaker design

I developed the final models using sketch up. I left out some minor details for example the circle in the middle would have my logo laser cut into it. I tried to make the design a mixture of all of my favorite aspects from my other designs whilst still looking functional. I experimented with different types of wood in order to see the different effects they could have. Due to funding restraints I may not be able to get the wood type I had been hoping to get so I am going to need to be willing to compromise in the case of not being able to acquire my desired material.

I wanted my design to be simple and minimalist letting the natural design on the wood be the main design feature. I experimented with the concept of having a stand for it but decided this would be an unnecessary design feature. I plan to round off the edges of the speaker to make the design look more smooth and fluid. I may end up recycling the buttons from another speaker for it will save me from fixing them to the circuit board. I would like to add a leather strap around the outside of the speaker but i feel that if i end up using a light wood it will not look as nice. It is because of this that i have decided to only add the leather accent if I am able to aquire some dark wood.

In order for my speaker to be safely usable I will have it checked to make sure that there are no wiring issues that could cause damage to the speaker or the plug it is plugged in to. This will be done in my collage and it will be marked with a pass tag to show that it is safe to plug in.
