Evaluation

My research helped me see the standard of professional work and some of the most famous designs used throughout history. This let me get a good idea of the type of product and theme I would want to follow and helped flush out and round off some of the ideas for my FMP that I had at the time. The research also gave me some ideas of different processes and techniques I could use in the production of my product. I saw that most of the designers I had researched developed brands of their own, this gave me the idea to develop an entire brand around my product.

During my experimentation I looked at different designs I could use on my speaker. I Looked at different shapes and how they would fit into an environment. I looked at designing the speaker to be used indoors and out on the go and ended up settling on a smaller compact and sturdy design that would allow it to be used indoors and outdoors. I did some further using modeling foam. I shaped the foam into the size and design of some of the speakers I had designed so that I could get a better idea of the way my speaker would have fit into an environment.

I found the development of my brand enjoyable. I ended up basing my logo off of celtic knot work drawings and tried to follow the celtic theme by basing my name off of the norse god of sound. I designed my website to look very natural using colors like green and brown and layed it out to be as fluid to navigate as possible. I used lots of pictures of woods and tried to make the website show the ecofreindly theme I wanted to show. I feel the website came out very well and the brand was very flushed out.

The final development of my speaker was somewhat difficult due to the fact that I found it hard to gather the money nesacary to but my materials which hindered the production quite a bit but the speaker came out very well. It works to a high standard and has kept to the surfer style I was aiming for.

In conclusion I am very happy with my final project and feel that it has came out just as I had imagined it. If I were to have changed anything I would have managed my money alot better so that when it came to buy materials I was not as stuck. I would have also have liked to possibly develop another product and use it with my brand but i did not have either the budget or the time to do this. In spit of all of this I am happy with the end result and am proud of the work I have produced.
