When researching I chose the 20th century. I am happy I chose this for I found it a lot easier to look at the culture and use it in my work. All of the comic artists that I researched were all very similar in their style. They were all comical using similar art styles. I would have liked to research a more diverse range of comic artists but I ended up only looking at those for they were the ones I found easiest to analyse. I fell that I spent too much time researching my comic artists and would have liked to of found more information on the artists but it was difficult for there was not much posted about them on the internet.
I based my comic art and comedy style from Mercworks. I chose to stick with the same art style and kept the basic feeling of each comic the same. I would have liked to try and experiment with different art styles and genres but I found it hard to think of anything. I would also have liked to make some more comic strips but I ran out of time and had to settle with only two.
I found it fairly easy to get ideas for the comic strips for I had a lot of ideas that I could expand on. When developing my ideas I used a mind map to get basic inspiration then pulled basic plots from it and then chose the plots and expanded on them while making the comic books. I could have improved my planning process by making it more in depth meaning that I get clearer ideas and will take less time in the development of my comics.
If I were to do this again I would try and allow more time to make the comic strips and have spent less time on research. I would also experiment with different art styles and concepts. I would also like to have made some longer comic strips instead of the two slide strips, maybe making a page length one.
